Introduction - Wrist Wallet

Today we live in a society where we constantly consume and we have moved into a generation where we have stopped making. For my class Writing Across the Arts we are able to challenge this perception and make something that we have never made before. This allows us to explore the history and background of an abject and create something out of the materials that we have chosen. My idea for what to make for this project changed from making a jewelry box to a leather bag and eventually decided to make a wrist wallet. I believed that it would be important to find an object that would be useful to me. My goal is to make three iterations of my object with different materials such as fabric, paper and leather. After this step is completed I will make a fourth/final iteration choosing the best material.
